Young ceramics meets traditional craftsmanship

50 ceramic studios will transform Bonn's Münsterplatz into a stage for contemporary ceramics on June 13th and 14th, 2026 – with fresh trends, proven craftsmanship and an interactive tent for everyone who wants to work with clay themselves.

On the second weekend in June, Münsterplatz will once again become a meeting place for ceramics enthusiasts: The 29th Bonn Pottery Market It brings together 50 studios from Germany and abroad, selected by the North Rhine ceramics guild.

In the historic heart of the city, a colorful panorama of Tableware for everyday use and festive occasions, jewelry, artistic objects, planters, wind chimes, indoor fountains, garden decorations and much more.

Strolling from stall to stall reveals new favorite pieces, even for ceramic collectors.

Young handwriting styles and fresh trends

This year Several young exhibitors will once again enrich the event. The market is seeing new developments, like Kerstin Ruschel from Trier. With her label Maarpottery, she showcases hand-thrown stoneware for daily use – from trendy From cups and plates to flower pots and bird feeders.

The young potter couple from yutu-Keramik, Jan Haas and Peipei Guo, process high-fired stoneware with their own glazes and slip and incised decorations into tableware, tiles and amphorae.

Their clear shapes and vibrant surfaces are exemplary of new designs in ceramics, as is also the case with the Netherlands-based ceramicist Marine Feuillerat, whose mug, cup and plate glazes resemble landscapes or abstract paintings.

Tradition, technology and fire

Two exhibitors from Belgium, Emmanuelle Anselin and Panten-Keramik, are showcasing unique pieces with elaborate and complex crystal glazes, whose history dates back over 1.000 years.

Raku and smoke-firing techniques are Ute and Arno Hastenteufel's passion. The interplay of fire and smoke creates the finest surface cracks that meander across the silky, shimmering glazes of their vessels. Each piece is unique.

Delicate, elegant, durable – porcelain

A wide selection of porcelain is also available. Delicate tableware, which plays with the beauty of imperfection, can be found at Annette Wibral's stand.

Britta Teetzen presents, among other things, elegant lampshades that bathe any living space in a warm light and are dishwasher safe.

A special highlight is the hands-on tent: Here, children and adults can get hands-on, shape clay and experience the material directly.

Thus, the Bonn pottery market will not only for the exhibition of high-quality Ceramics, but also a place for encounters, inspiration and living craft traditions.
